The new green gold: NOAN INTENSO

Latium, the region around the eternal city of Rome, the cradle of an ancient civilization, is also the place where our NOAN Intenso originates. In central Italy, our olives can develop their wide-ranging aromas to their full potential. In keeping with the typical Italian life-style, the single-variety NOAN Intenso oil from the Italian Itrano olive is full-bodied, fruity and vibrant.
The production of extra virgin olive oil from this wonderful fruit is based on simple but strict principles: only the best olives produced under strictly organic conditions by local farmers, the "NOAN partner farmers", are taken to the mill.
Even before the olives in the groves begin to turn violet, the time is ripe: the olives are nearly ready to be harvested. Depending on how ripe the olives are, harvesting takes place from mid to late October, when the fruit is cold pressed (cold extracted, to use the correct terminology), filtered and bottled.
The new taste adventure
This is how the renowned Italian oleologist, Duccio Morozzo della Rocca, describes the new NOAN Intenso: "NOAN Intenso has a characteristic intense flavour with a pleasant sweet and green touch. Its typical fragrance is reminiscent of green bananas, white apples and bush tomatoes, rounded off by the pleasant herbal aromas of basil and mint. The palate detects a hint of the sweetness of bananas, a wonderfully contrasting complement to the tones of artichoke and a nuance of almond. The measured and balanced relationship between fine pungency and a delicate bitter note is typical for the composition of flavours that Intenso embodies."
NOAN Intenso is the perfect accompaniment for strong-flavoured dishes such as:
- vegetables such as tomatoes, aubergines, endive, various salads
- strong cheeses such as goat's or sheep's cheese
- various sughi
- rich fish (tuna, swordfish, mackerel, sardines, etc.)
- strong meat dishes such as steak, roast lamb or pork chops
